KCADFW's First Karshakasree award was won by Martin Karathedathu

In 2017 KCADFW started Karshakasree award to promote home agriculture within Knanaya community in Dallas. Since we are an immigrant community, many people to do gardening around the their home. So far this hard work was never been recognized by the community. After the initial screening, KCADFW president Thommachen Mukalel along with two other judges from outside community visited 12 homes.

 

See the video and pictures to understand the extend the community went to do the farming in this adopted country. Many community members were amazed at the video taken by the KCADFW president. According to the judges, it was very difficult to determine the winners since most of the vegetable gardens were amazing.

 

The awards were declared during Onam celebration by the judges.  Martin Karathedathu won the first place trophy and cash award. It was a pleasure to watch his garden in the video. He has planted around 50 Chena itself along with many other vegetables.

3rd place winner          -  Joppen Ambattu & Josemon Puzhakarott

 

A special award was given to Mrs Mariamma Scaria Kollamparambil (Mother of Julie Thekumkattuthadathil) for her efforts and hard work.

 

Everyone was given trophy and cash ward. Main Karshakasree award was sponsored by Theophine Chamakala as a memorial for his father Chummarukutty Chamakala. He presented the award to Martin Karathedathu.
